of individuals of all ages who primarily have intellectual disabilities and, in
some instances, have other developmental disabilities or delays. The Arc
is a source of support, specialized knowledge, and resources in assisting
individuals and their families to determine their needs and goals. We
also work to influence societal attitudes and resources so that people with intellectual
disabilities and developmental disabilities will have access to the services,
assistance and opportunities they need for personal growth and development, and
participation in the community.

Entry Level Positions/Minimal Experience:
Overnight and/or Evening Residence Counselors- Part Time and Full Time Residence Counselor
positions are currently available and will include afternoons, evenings and/or
overnight shifts and weekends. Residence Counselors assist individuals residing
in specific homes in their daily living routines in such activities as
dressing, shopping, meal preparation and personal hygiene through direct
assistance and/or skills training. They provide individual guidance in health
and safety, budgeting and money management, personal relations and developing
social connections in the community. They also assist the Residence
Manager/Supportive Manager in the cleanliness and general upkeep of the home.
Requirements include a HS Diploma/GED and a valid NYS Driver’s License with at
least one year of driving experience with that license. This position also
requires the capacity to support people’s physical management needs,
necessitating the ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds. MUST HAVE THE AVAILABILITY TO ATTEND PAID
DAYTIME TRAININGS.
Part Time Weekend Overnight Respite Counselor- We are currently recruiting for a Part-Time
Residence Counselor to work Friday and Saturday Overnights at our Respite
House. This job will support adults, children, and adolescents with
developmental disabilities. The schedule for this position is Friday
11p-9a and Saturday 9p-7a. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
assisting individuals with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and providing
and participating in recreational activities.
Applicants must have a HS Diploma/GED and a Valid NYS Driver's License
with at least 1 year of driving experience. Must be able to lift 50lbs. MUST HAVE THE AVAILABILITY TO
ATTEND PAID DAYTIME TRAININGS.
Part-Time Family Resource Workers (afternoons,
evenings and wknds)- The Arc is currently recruiting for multiple Part
Time Family Resource Workers to work in our Family and Community Supports
Program. Family Resource Workers provide Respite Care and Community Habilitation
to persons of all ages with special needs in a one-on-one capacity. These
positions will be between 5-20 hours per week, depending on the specific
position. The hours will fall during the late afternoons, evenings, and
weekends, respectively. Core responsibilities will include: Working on goals
specific to the individual being supported (within their home and also in the
community), and working closely with family members/parents of the person being
supported to assist them with their needs. Locations include:
Part-Time Family Resource Worker (morning hours)- This
position will entail supporting an adult married couple between 5-10 hours per
week during morning hours (Monday-Friday) in Watervliet. The exact morning
hours will depend on program needs. Core responsibilities will include working
on goals specific to the individuals being supported within their home and also
in the community. Requirements include a High School Diploma/GED and a valid
NYS Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience with that
license. Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive vehicle to
perform job duties (gas mileage and any job related expenses will be
reimbursed).
Relief (Per Diem) and Part Time
Lifestyle Specialists- Part-Time
and Relief schedules available in our Seamless/Consolidated Supports and
Services Program. Part Time schedules would mostly be less than
20hrs/week and would include mostly afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends. Lifestyle Specialists provide support,
direct care, and camaraderie to persons with developmental disabilities. Qualified applicants must possess a valid NYS
Driver’s License with at least 1 year of driving experience with that license,
a HS Diploma/GED, and the ability to lift 50lbs to support peoples’ physical
management needs.
Advanced
Positions/Managerial Positions:
Residential Manager- Coordinates the provision of residential supports to
the people at designated home sites. Supervises the team to ensure quality
standards are met in the following core areas: home environment, medical and
personal care, community involvement, and financial budgeting. Carries out operational activities with
assigned team and individuals within the parameters of agency policies and
procedures. The Team Manager will
monitor the progress and completion of performance activities. Education and/or
Experience: Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of related experience or
Associate’s Degree with a minimum of three years’ experience in the field. Management/Supervisory experience is a plus. Must have a valid Driver’s License with at
least 1 year of driving experience. ($15.32/hr)
Assistant Residence Manager- The responsibilities of an Assistant Residential
Manager include: Provide direct care at the specific residence including tasks
assigned to Residence Counselors. Under the direction of the Residence Manager,
coordinate staff efforts regarding the medication administration process, the heath and safety of the people served, the implementation
of each individuals’ plan including the documentation of billable services and
the utilization of local community resources. Assist the Residence Manager with
the hiring/training/orientation of new staff and the scheduling of staff on a
daily basis. Direct the activities of direct care staff while on duty.
Requirements include: Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma/GED with two years experience in a Residential Program and a Valid NYS
Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience with that
license. This position necessitates the ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds.

IT:
MIS Intern (Please contact our Recruiter directly to apply for this position) - We are currently recruiting for a Student MIS Intern. This position
will be 10 hours per week (M-F) with hours being flexible based on program
need. This person will be responsible
for assisting with various IT projects.
Summary: The projects would allow students to build their technical support
skills by building and assessing problems with personal computers, printers,
and faxes and developing solutions independently or as a team. The projects
will allow students to work with the MIS Coordinators on various projects from
wireless access throughout the agency to building new servers. This will help
increase their knowledge of the network structure and how to provide support
based on an organization needs. Assist in creating an agency database to track
equipment, input forms, and reports to monitor the age of equipment and time
frame when the equipment may need to be replaced. Students will work closely
with the Management Information Systems Coordinators and may at times be asked
to travel to our off site locations.
Students will also have the ability to perform specific tasks offsite
and would not be required to be onsite. Educations/Requirements:
Students must have awareness of the PC hardware components, desktop operating
system software, and application software. Students should possess strong
communication skills and analytical skills.
They should have the ability to research and understand technical issues
and troubleshooting. Must
have a valid Driver’s License.
